Easter with a New Generation

Easter has alwasy been soooo much fun with cousins and family. It was so good to do Easter again Old School Grandma Fe style this year! Again there were dozens and dozens of eggs to be found and they were money filled to boot! Not even the rain could ruin the fun that the kids had searching for the eggs hidden in the garden, in tree branches, under car tires, etc.

The little kids (who we thought would need some help) caught on pretty quick and were pretty close to getting the elbows out to get to the one last egg to be found...

And then, after the eggs were found, it was time to crack those babies open to enjoy the chocolates and count up the loot.

  

and whos kidding who. The adults got into it too! Check out the couple of dads pocketing some dollar bills (their identities have been hidden).

we didn't have the whole crew in on the Egg Hunt.... so how about a date for Easter 2013 for everyone to be around... we will be 2 more babies to invite!

Maya's Adventure the Grandma

I'm the first to admit how lucky my children are... but I think Maya struck the lucky pot when she was invited to go on a Disney Cruise with Grandma to celebrate her 10th birthday (a month early). Before she left we went onto the Disney website to check out the Dream... and she was so excited to get on the big boat!

and of course while down in the Bahamas Maya had to get her hair done...

and they always came back to the cabin to surprises like this...

Party Boy

Looks like our baby is getting big and slowly showing his independence. He had his first friend party and we weren't part of the invitation list. They had been best buddies since they started daycare. I even knew his mom while she was pregos same time as me! Hope that they continue to smile and giggle and play just like they do now.

Now it's time to plan HIS first friend party... can't wait for April 24th!

Saying Goodbye to Two Great Aunts

So far February hasn't been kind to our little family. We've had to say goodbye to two great souls that have only brought smiles and laughter to our days.

Last week Auntie Nene - so happy that we got to spend some awesome time with her in Vegas in October!

This picture is a bad one of me but a great one of her at Aria in Vegas.

Then on the weekend we received the news that Great Great Aunt Alice had passed away. It was during Christmas that we were able to suprise her with a months worth of KitKat bars!

May you both find peace and know that your spirits will always be remembered, missed and thought about regularly!

The kids have promised to eat at least 1 kitkat a month to remember you by Auntie Alice!

Catch Up! #3 - Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Al

But the best part of the evening might have been when Alice the Great (aka Great Great Auntie Alice) opened her present from us...

morphsuit sightings!

If you see an orange blur during a hockey game, school dance, working out at your local gym or even longboarding down the street, I may have an idea of who it is. I've witness a sighting at a hockey game and I've heard of a sighting at a school dance but I'm pretty sure the wearer of the said morphsuit has more sightings planned once the spring and summer approaches. Hopefully he gains about 20lbs before the summer comes.

One Regular Season Under Her Belt

Well the regular season is over for 2010-2011 and now we enter what is commonly known as the second season (play downs). Last weekend the girls had a very good weekend of hockey. Though they didn't win their games, they were very competitive and managed to score goals in both games. The best part of the weekend was playing at the OHL rink that is olympic size ice! Lots of skating for that puck, going into corners and fighting along the boards.

Catch Up! #2 - Visits with Grandpa

The end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 has brought us more time with Grandpa than we have EVER had. Think we have him a little addicted to us... another time together is definitely in the works!

First up was the Bennett Christmas - where we exchanged presents including hockey pants, CN wooden trains, Nike running shoes and iPod sensor as well as a Power Balance band that can in one day too late for Grandpa. But happy to report that since he has worn it, he hasn't fallen (knock on wood).

 

Next up was a visit to watch the Bearcats in their first tournament of 2011. While they didn't win a game they did put a great effort on Sunday against the first place team who they had lost to the day before by a whooping score. The girls also woke up very early on both mornings of the weekend to play hockey. Guess the organizers didn't want any home ice advantage for the Bearcats!

Catch Up! #1 - Dress up time

Sometimes its the small things that I want to write about...  So much has happened to our family of 5 since the last time I posted I don't even know where to begin. Here is what brought us some giggles the other night after a friend (thanks Miss Frannie!) came to work bearing gifts of halloween costumes of the past.

 

At least he doesn't have to wear the princess outfits that Maya has in her dress up bin anymore!
