Well officially, there are supposed to be 4 adults. But with our family it was always the "pack them in approach". Mainly because it was expensive for more rooms but honestly we had, and have, so much fun in small confined spaces! When we used to go to places, as a kid we never ever ever saw a mattress... and if you were lucky you might have gotten the bathtub as your very own sleeping sanctuary. So on those special family get aways to Kings Island we would get adjoining rooms (that sleep 4 in each room) and pack 20+ of us in there. We would pack microwaves, rice cookers, all kinds of things for our one night stay because there was just no extra $$ to go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner - but honestly, I didn't know that most people didn't pack 50% of their kitchen when they went away. It was just normal to me and I'm sure for the rest of my cousins.
This picture is from one of our first visits to an amusement park with
the extended family. I remember going to Sea World and setting up in
the picnic area. We would unload coolers full of food that was made a
home. Back then, there was no going to a kiosk - they just cost too
much. But I swear that we had the best food at our picnic area. Who can
beat Adobo and Rice and Mangoes as dessert?
BUT things have changed and hotels do have rules. As our little vacation in our vacation we booked 2 Village Suites at the Kalahari Resort for 1 night. Yes that 2 rooms. Each suite sleeps 12 people! Translation: everyone gets a bed, and that included the babies and kids. They are counted as people too! At Kalahari all guests have to be registered to be able to go into the waterpark area. (go take a look at www.kalahariresort.com) You gotta see the place. In each Suite there are 3 bathrooms... there will be no waiting. And if someone wants to sleep in a bathtub for nostalgia sake, they can take their pick from 6 of them... and 2 of those are jacuzzi tubs! Talk about moving on up!
